WHAT IS THE EARLY EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM?
As the demand for skilled technicians continues to rise, participating employers are offering UTI students opportunities to jump-start their careers.1 If you are an enrolled automotive or diesel student, you are eligible to apply to the Early Employment Program.36
Participating employers may offer 20 to 30 hours of paid work experience, and consideration for full-time employment and reimbursement for education-related expenses after graduation.
The UTI Early Employment Program is a strategic initiative we are extremely excited about participating in. The program provides us with an opportunity to evaluate potential full time candidates while they are working part time and attending class. The on-the-job experience these students gain while attending UTI is an invaluable opportunity for students to gain field experience while acclimating them to our company’s culture. The tiered tuition reimbursement piece of the program also provides these students with the incentive to remain with us after graduation which is another vital piece of the program. The program really is a win for everyone!Jim Schaffer

It’s a great program and everyone at my LRS maintenance shop is eager to help me progress. I look forward to continuing learning at LRS and have recommended the program to other UTI students. This type of opportunity is beneficial in providing the frontline experience needed to hit the ground running after graduation.Anthony Turner

LRS is pleased to join forces with UTI on this strategic, student-focused employment program. Our Mechanics in Training and Mentor Mechanics benefit from invaluable face time with one another, serving as an effective progression to onboarding future mechanics who are knowledgeable on the LRS fleet and overall maintenance program. In turn, UTI offers its students frontline experiences that help shape and sharpen their knowledge base with the opportunity to receive financial support after graduation.Jason Saunders

Eligibility requirements and conditions are established by participating employers and are between the employer and the student.
In addition to employer-specific requirements, eligible applicants for the Early Employment Program must be enrolled at or currently attending UTI (program currently offered at select UTI campuses based on employer availability and hiring needs).
